The Gast Business Library announces additional space dedicated to group study. Six cubicles located on the south side of the library (Rooms 14 – 19), previously used by patrons on a first come, first served basis, will now require a reservation. To reserve a cubicle, use the online room reservation link found at www.lib.msu.edu/business



Gartner Class on Nov. 3 in Business Library

MSU students, faculty and staff can now access the Gartner Portal by visiting www.gartnerportal.ais.msu.edu and logging in with their MSUnet ID and password. The MSU library will offer a LCTTP class -- "Gartner: Information Technology (IT) Research and Beyond" on Nov. 3 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in room 22 of the Gast Business Library.

WRDS: Addition of CISDM Hedge Fund/CTA Database

WRDS is pleased to announce the addition of CISDM Hedge Fund/CTA Database.


This dataset is being offered by the University of Massachusetts Amherst and their Center for International Securities and Derivatives Markets (CISDM) at no charge to all WRDS subscribers for a one year period. Following the one year period, CISDM will give an option of subscribing to the data either through WRDS or directly.


The CISDM database provides information on over 3700 active Hedge Funds and over 660 active CTAs and CPOs. In addition, the database covers 3800 inactives. For each fund in the...

Free Training for Euromonitor Packaging database on Sept. 15

You are invited to attend a free training session for the Euromonitor Packaging database in Room 100 Packaging from 11:30 - 1:00 PM on Friday, Sept.15.


The packaging database from Euromonitor is a great resource for finding statistics regarding packaging use around the world. Christopher Ohlhoff from Euromonitor will present.


The library has an extended trial of the Packaging database through December 9, 2006. To have access to the database during the trial period, faculty and students will need to contact Nancy Lucas for more information at 432-4180.

MSU libraries recently acquired JSTOR's Business II collection.

The Business II Collection will feature at least fifty titles, twenty-five of which will be drawn from Arts & Sciences IV and the Arts & Sciences Complement. We are especially pleased to broaden the number of core international business titles in this collection. Business II also includes a number of journals that explore the intersections between economics and law, policy, and psychology.

A New Business Information Search Engine: Accoona
