The MSU Libraries now offer a new article retrieval service for MSU faculty, staff, and graduate students: MARS, the MSU Article Retrieval Service.
MARS lets you save a trip to the library when you need an article from a journal in our collection that's only available in print, or a single chapter from a book. Submit your MARS request online, and our staff will retrieve the material, scan it, and send you a link to the digital copy.
Exact citations are required. If you need assistance identifying books and articles on a given topic, staff will be glad to assist you.
Place your request by logging on to the Libraries' ILLiad system. Once you're in, select Request Material --> Copy of Article, and follow the online instructions. This service is also available through many of the libraries’ online databases. Unfortunately, we can't take requests by phone. Questions? Email us at ill@mail.lib.msu.edu.
Please note that copyright law prohibits us from supplying more than one article from the same issue of a journal. If an article cannot be scanned successfully, we'll make a photocopy and mail it to you. Requests are typically completed in 2 to 3 business days.
