A Republican-controlled committee in the state House on Thursday failed to pass legislation authorizing Michigan to have a state-based marketplace allowing people to shop for health insurance - a pillar of the federal health care law.
And with that, it appeared the state will continue on the course to having the federal government predominantly control its exchange - a Travelocity-like website for health insurance.
