Need Health Data or Statistics?

If you're looking for health data and statistics, the MSU Libraries' Health Data & Statistics Research Guide is a great place to start. This guide contains resources that are freely available through the WWW as well as library subscription resources and print materials.

The Health Data & Statistics Research Guide was created by Abe Wheeler (Health Sciences Librarian) and Hailey Mooney (Data Services Librarian). If you need additional help finding health data and statistics, please feel free to contact Abe, Hailey, or the Main Library Reference Desk.

Improved Access to MD Consult - Unlimited Users

The MSU Libraries has increased the number of concurrent users for MD Consult from nine to unlimited.

This means that there's no longer a limit to how many MSU students, residents, faculty, and staff can access this resource at the same time.

H1N1 (swine flu) Info at MSU

As the fall semester begins, MSU is preparing for the impact H1N1 (swine flu) may have on faculty members, students, and academics on campus.

President Simon is encouraging the MSU community to stay informed and updated by visiting the following sites frequently.

  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1
  • World Health Organization: http://www.who.int/csr/disease/swineflu/en/
  • MSU H1N1 Special Report: http://special.news.msu.edu/h1n1/

In addition, all MSU faculty, students and staff are encouraged to always be vigilant about basic ways to protect their health:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners also are effective.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze (then throw out the tissue). Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
  • Common symptoms of influenza include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. If you are ill, please stay home to avoid infecting others.
