Musical Commemorations 2008-2009

This exhibit is focused on musical anniversaries and celebrations in 2008 and 2009, as well as historical events, including the end of World War I and the Sesquicentennial of the City of Lansing. Featured are a "potpourri" of books, scores, CD album covers, costumes, and maps from the MSU Libraries' collections.

"When the Frost is on the Punkin..." : A Celebration of Fall

When the heat of summer fades and a cool, crispness fills the air; when the leaves burst into color and the loud honking of geese reverberates in the sky; when Indian corn, pumpkins, scarecrows and corn shocks assemble on America's doorsteps, thoughts turn to football, the first frost, cider and donuts, Thanksgiving...
This exhibit celebrates autumn through artifacts and a miscellany of materials from the MSU Libraries' collections.

As of November 2008, the MSU Main Library has upgraded its EBSCO subscription to Environment Issues and Policy Index (formerly called Environment Index) to include all available online content provided by the vendor. The new expanded product is called Environment Complete.
According to EBSCO, Environment Complete™ offers deep coverage in applicable areas of agriculture, ecosystem ecology, energy, renewable energy sources, natural resources, marine & freshwater science, geography, pollution & waste management, environmental technology, environmental law, public policy, social impacts, urban planning, and more. Environment Complete contains more than 1,957,000 records from more than 1,700 domestic and international titles going back to the 1940s (including 1,125 active core titles) as well as more than 120 monographs. The database also contains full text for more than 680 journals, including many of the most used journals in the discipline, such as Environment (back to 1975), Ecologist, Conservation Biology, etc. Additionally, Environment Complete provides full text for 120 monographs, such as Encyclopedia of World Environmental History (3 volumes), Advances in Water Treatment & Environmental Management, etc.
It may take a few months, but all new titles and title coverge will be posted under Electronic Journals and added to the Main Library Catalog as well.
