The Engineering Library will be closed Thursday 11/26/09 through Saturday 11/28/09 for the Thanksgiving holiday. The library will reopen on Sunday 11/29/09 at 6pm.

Engineering Library Summer Hours Begin 5/18/09

May 11 through May 15, the Engineering Library is open from 8 am to 5 pm. Beginning Monday May 18th the Engineering Library will start its regular Summer hours: Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 10 pm, Friday 8am-5pm, and Saturday 1 pm to 5 pm.

The Engineering Library will have extended hours on Saturday 5/2/09. The library will be open from 10:00 am - 9:00 pm.

More PCs In the Engineering Library

Recently four new PC’s were installed in the Engineering Library. Two of them allow full access to the Internet and all of MSU’s electronic resources. They require users to sign on with their MSU net id and password.

The other two PC’s allow access to the electronic resources that MSU pays for and the library online catalog. These do not require users to sign on.

New Trial Resource - Morgan & Claypool's Synthesis Digital Library of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Michigan State University Libraries has arranged for free trial access to Morgan & Claypool's Synthesis Digital Library of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. This trial period will last through the end of October. Please feel free to pass information about this Synthesis along to your students as well. To access the this resource you can to the MSU Libraries Trial Resources page at http://er.lib.msu.edu/eval.cfm and click on Synthesis or click on http://www.morganclaypool.com/ for a direct link to Synthesis. Since this resource uses IP authentication, you should not need a user ID or password.

Synthesis provides broad coverage of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science but also includes some coverage of engineering in general such as Engineering, Poverty and the Earth: http://www.morganclaypool.com/doi/pdfplus/10.2200/S00088ED1V01Y200704ETS004. The content is not available elsewhere. The content level in Synthesis ranges from state-of-the-art research overviews such as: Transactional Memory:

2008 ASTM Standards Are Here

Volumes of the 2008 edition of the Annual Book of ASTM Standards are now arriving in the Engineering Library. The 2008 volumes of the ASTM Standards are shelved in the Reference area of the Engineering Library at the call number TA 401.A653.
