The Hispanic Latino Collaborative of Genesee County proudly presents a Citizens March to commemorate the 83rd anniversary of the birth of Cesar E. Chavez scheduled for Saturday, March 27, 2010 at noon. The walk will commence at U of M Flint's Harding Mott University Center, proceed down Chavez Drive, and then return back to the Michigan Rooms for a reception, which will include a catered lunch. Flint, Michigan was the first city in the country to honor Chavez by naming a street in his honor 23 years ago.
To honor his legacy of determination in helping others, we will also hold a fundraiser in conjunction with the March. ALL proceeds will go directly to help UFW members and their families who continue to fight for justice on the job for those who are at the beginning of the chain to bring food to the American table. Checks may be made payable to the Cesar E. Chavez Foundation.
