There are, for all intents and purposes, four types of analytics positions in the U.S; data analyst, business analyst (BA), data scientist, and business intelligence analyst (BIA). Since these position titles tend to be fluid over time, there’s a need to continually re-identify the skill requirements for professionals in each of these areas.
Fortunately, several researchers have taken inventory of some of the most desirable analytics skills sought by employers between December 2016 and February 2017.
Verma et al. (2019) used content analysis to examine a sample of 1,235 job...

“The yield curve does not cause a recession in my framework. The yield curve is just an elegant way to summarize sentiment in the economy.” - Campbell Harvey
An inverted yield curve marks a point where short-term investments in U.S. Treasury bonds pay more than long-term ones. When they flip, or invert, it’s widely regarded as a bad sign for the economy.
Facts in August
The rate of the 10-year bond fell below the 1-year bond
The rate of the 2-year bond did not close above the 10-year bond (flat)
The 10-year bond rate has closed less than the 3-month bond rate every day... Continue reading "The CRAZY Inverted Yield Curve"...

“The massive amount of [leadership] literature and the diversity of theoretical approaches raise a compelling need for stocktaking…”
Leadership is a particularly popular topic due to rapidly changing societal phenomena. Whether in politics, business, or higher education, the evolution of leadership as a practice has been written about extensively.
In order to better understand the literature, MSU author Russell Johnson applied bibliometric analysis to a corpus of leadership research to quantitatively visualize the landscape and the evolution of the field. Using co-citation...

It’s not often we have opportunities to interact with objects made when Joan of Arc was alive, but visitors to MSU Libraries have an opportunity to see a collection of 500-year-old books in a new exhibit of medieval work on display through December. The exhibit examines MSU’s growing collection of medieval manuscripts and early printed books in a variety of genres, both sacred and secular, including medicine, poetry, cookery, religious devotion, music, history, and astronomy. Materials are interpreted through markings their producers and owners left behind, and visitors can hear recordings...

For the vast majority of adults out there, the term credit score is nothing new. It's the rating between 300-850 that follows every U.S. consumer.
Unfortunately, most consumers aren't told how their score is being used, configured, or maintained. Since the three main credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) serve the interests of creditors and not consumers, they are not incentivized to inform you, least of all "fix" your credit score.
Passionate credit management activist, finance educator, and advisor-turned-author Anthony Davenport provides a consumer-friendly...
