In 2010 MSU Libraries purchased a second Sanborn module which contains detailed historic maps of 12 major metropolitan areas in the United States (see list below). This module has better navigation and features than our Michigan module.
The shelves are in! Now the workers are tweaking the system that moves them to make sure it operates properly. We are also starting to interfile our books and journals into one call number run starting on the new compact shelving. We're still vacuuming too.
Installation of the shelves continues. We also continue to vacuum the dust off of our books. So it is much the same this week.

Carpet will be installed on Monday. There could be some fumes in addition to some noise. On Tuesday, installation of the compact shelving units starts again. Workers will bring in material and start to assemble the shelves. It will be noisy and some more possible dust.
