Erin Weller is Head of Patron Services at MSU Libraries. She started out as a student employee in the Circulation department and has worked at MSU Libraries for nearly sixteen years.

As Head of Patron Services, Weller independently oversees and coordinates all activities for the Library’s Patron Services department including late night operations. She is responsible for the oversight of hiring, training, evaluating, scheduling, and coordinating the work and development of the department’s staff and students. She provides detailed and highly complex assistance to patrons, and interprets and administers Patron Services policies fairly and judiciously to resolve problems.

“I really enjoy working with people, and the library is the best place to do that,” said Weller. “I love interacting with patrons and helping them with their needs. I have an excellent group of staff and students working in my department, and it is a joy to come to work because of them.”

Weller was recently elected to serve on the Support Staff Advisory Group (SSAG) committee and has enjoyed being part of that team thus far. She has also been a licensed attorney for the last nine years, and she started her own practice, Weller Law, PLLC, in 2015. As an attorney, she represents defendants in the Ionia County Adult Drug Treatment Court. Her other practice areas include Estate Planning and Family Law matters. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, playing board games, and camping.
