Futurist, author, visionary George Gilder takes aim at Google to warn consumers of the fallacies that built the behemoth—namely, that everything is free.
Gilder writes, “With a few small (but significant exceptions), everything Google offers to its "customers" is free. Internet searches are free. Email is free. The vast resources of the data centers, costing Google an estimated thirty billion dollars to build, are provided essentially free. Free is not by accident.”
Before expounding on his 10 Laws of the Cryptocosm, Gilder asserts that the most basic building block of any information technology is security.
