State agriculture officials lift ban on poultry shows

State agriculture officials have lifted the ban on poultry and waterfowl shows they imposed last summer to help prevent the spread of avian flu.

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on Wednesday said it decided to lift the ban after evaluating the status of the U.S. outbreak. But it warned the ban could be reinstated if the disease re-emerges.
